We are all recovering from something.
An injury, an addiction, grief, a relationship, PTS, family issues, how we talk to our selves... the list goes on.
I find that by talking about those issues heals me. I don't do it as it the "recover out-loud movement" that you see and hear about online, mostly because I'm just figuring out my own recovery. However, I am so thankful for those that do recover out loud as they have given me courage to address that which I want to recover from.
My recovery looks more like talking within my inner circle of a few close friends. And, it happens through journaling and art.
I am not an artist. I've never taken an art class in my life, but I love to create. I guess that is where my passion for soap making and the creation of Sober Soaps comes from. Creating and making have been my super power in recovery.
So, this online journal is the beginning of me sharing my recovery with others. I will share my thoughts, my rituals and practices in hopes of inspiring others, but more importantly to keep myself accountable.
And as always, there is no right of wrong way to recovery, take what you want and leave the rest.
